What started in January as a smaller recall has now been expanded to approximately 1.8 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the U.S.
The fuel pump can fail randomly causing the car to stall and/or not start. Failure would also cause warning lights and messages to appear on the instrument panel and if the problem occurred while driving at higher speeds the risk of a collision would increase.
Toyota will replace the pump with an improved one at no cost to owners. Notices not already sent will go out in May. Affected models include both Toyota and Lexus from 2013 to 2019.
To see if your car is involved in this recall go to ‘toyota.com/recall’ or ‘nhtsa.gov/recalls’ and enter your 17 character VIN number or license plate.
