To customers of Del Mar Automotive Hi.  This is Todd Phillips.  I could list all the things we are doing to guard against the Corona Virus but you already have heard all that.  What's really important is to let you know that Del Mar Auto will be here for you if you need us through this pandemic and beyond. I have been here for 30 years taking care of your vehicles and I am here now.  You have always been the reason for our existence and that will not change. We are experimenting with shorter work weeks so you may call and get the answering machine or arrive to find the doors closed.  My cell phone is 858-945-3621.  Please feel free to call me directly anytime that happens.  I will be in the area even if I am not at the shop.  I live in Del Mar.  We will get through this together. What started in January as a smaller recall has now been expanded to approximately 1.8 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the U.S.  The fuel pump can fail randomly causing the car to stall and/or not start.  Failure would also cause warning lights and messages to appear on the instrument panel and if the problem occurred while driving at higher speeds the risk of a collision would increase.  Toyota will replace the pump with an improved one at no cost to owners.  Notices not already sent will go out in May.  Affected models include both Toyota and Lexus from 2013 to 2019.  To see if your car is involved in this recall go to ‘toyota.com/recall’ or ‘nhtsa.gov/recalls’ and enter your 17 character VIN number or license plate.  Posted by Allen L Phillips, based on Toyota press release dated March 3, 2020
