Del Mar Automotive is owned by father and son, Al and Todd Phillips. Both Todd and Al were schooled in Christian values, with special emphasis on the "Golden Rule."

Todd is employed at Del Mar Auto as an auto technician for prior owners |
| 1992 |
Todd and Al purchase the shop with Al as bookkeeper, Todd as manager and primary technician |
| 1998 |
Al comes to work at the shop as full-time service writer and bookkeeper |
| 2002 |
Installation of computerized shop management system for instant access to customer history, online parts ordering and printing of invoices that people can actually read! |
| 2007 |
New 18,000 lb. extra tall lift installed allowing us to work on trucks and vans with up to a 1 ton chassis. |
| 2008 |
Two new diagnostic tools acquired to enhance our skills with European cars. |
| 2010 |
Electronic John Bean alignment system installed for faster and more accurate wheel alignments and a third lift is installed outside, for more flexibility, bringing our total lift count to 7. |

Our building has a history of it's own. Established in 1949 as an automobile repair shop, it was previously a repair barn for train cars that serviced the Del Mar Race Track. Come in and see the rails on the floor! |
